The visitor center of Pomorie Lake was visited by teachers from the region of Burgas. The visit was organized by the Regional Inspectorate for Education in Burgas and the team of Green Balkans NGO in Pomorie.

In the period 5-6 December 2011 in Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy) the first workshop of project LIFE10 NAT/IT/256 «Environmental Management and Conservation in Mediterranean Saltworks and Costal Lagoons» was held.
A delegation from the Ministry of Environment and Watwers, led by Minister Karadzhova and Vice-minister Vasileva visited the new wild nature center on the bank of Pomorie Lake.
A team of Green Balkans made a big ringing campaign of young Sandwich Terns (Sterna sandvicensis), hatched this year on the “island of terns in” Pomorie Lake. The birds are from the nesting place situated close to the south bank of the lake and considered to be the biggest colony of this bird species on the Balkan Peninsula.
On the second of June, 2011 in the region of Pomorie Lake experts of Green Balkans NGO successfully caught and marked with radio-transmitters specimen from the species Sandwich Tern (Sterna sandvicensis). For the first time in Bulgaria Sandwich Terns are marked with radio-transmitters.
On May 5th, 2011 Green Balkans held a press-conference and a presentation of the services provided by Pomorie Lake Visitor Center. In addition, two new eco-tourist routes were officially opened in the area of the saline lagoon.
Within a project funded by Operational Program “Environment” 2007-2013, Green Balkans NGO provides the cleaning of the Pomorie Lake banks. The lake is a protected natural area and an increasingly attractive eco-tourist destination.
On May 5th, 2011 Green Balkan NGO will make a presentation about the touristic services of Pomorie Lake Visitor Center and will officially open the eco-tourism trails around the saline lagoon! Be welcome!
The Administrative Court of Burgas repealed a Resolution of RIEW Burgas as a result of an appeal lodged by Green Balkans NGO in conformity with the Administrative Procedure Code. The decision of the Director of RIEW Burgas approved the implementation of an investment plan for the construction of a resort in the vicinity of Pomorie Lake.
The exhibition for tourism and entertainment “Holiday and SPA Expo” took place in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia from 17 to 19 February, 2011. In the exhibition participated 290 tourist agencies, tour operators, associations, hotels, tourist sites, municipalities, tourist media etc. from 18 countries.
Hundreds of state and non-governmental organizations from all over the world celebrated the World Wetlands Day. The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance was established on February 2nd 40 years ago.
Not only for the environmental community but for a much larger circle of people all over the world 2010 has passed under the motto of the international year of biodiversity, announced as such by the United Nations General Assembly.
On an official ceremony on the 10th of June, 2010 was opened the information and ecological center of the complex of protected nature territories of Pomorie Lake.
