Minister Karadzhova visited Pomorie Lake

The representatives of MoEW were accompanied by the deputy Ivan Aleksiev and people other interested people from the local community and the national assembly.
The center, known as Pomorie Lake Visitor Center was built and is currently managed by Green Balkans NGO. This month is the one-year anniversary since the opening of the center for tourists and environmentalists.

The visitor center is one of the newest tourist attractions at the Black Sea coast and one of the most modern and well-equipped centers of this kind in Europe. The building is situated on the south bank of the lake, next to the Salt Museum.

During their visit the minister watched with a telescope the great diversity of birds in the lake, which is a protected territory according to the national law, Natura 2000 zone and a Ramsar site. The delegation was highly interested in the long-term nature conservation work of Green Balkans in the area of Pomoirie Lake and also in the activities of the organization within their current project financed through Operative program “Environment 2007-2013”.
