This meeting, just as all other events dedicated to the wetlands in 2012, was focused on motto of the Ramsar Convention for this year: Wetlands tourism: A great experience. Thus, the teachers got acquainted with the opportunities for tourism and education in the Visitor center, as well as with the new eco-paths in the region of the lake.
Thanks to the “good” weather conditions some small parts of the lake got defrosted and the guests could observe many interesting birds using the spotting scopes in the center. In the defrosted areas could be seen many Swans, Coots, Mallards, Teals and the very rare for Bulgaria Smews (Mergus albellus). Many migratory geese could also be seen flying over the building of the center all day long.
The team of Green Balkans is grateful to the Regional inspectorate for Education in Burgas for the interest and organization of the event.
