On 11 August, Green Balkans team conducted its traditional educational activities at the “Pomorie Lake” Visitor Centre, which has been managed by the Pomorie Municipality, the Historical Museum of Pomorie since last year.

On Wednesday before noon we met the visitors of the Centre with the Pomorie Lake inhabitants with the help of the information board about the lake and Natura 2000. Thanks to magnets we told about the species and the younger visitors had the task to find which their favorite places are.

After that, a short presentation followed about the Natura 2000 species – the vultures. Our goal is to acquaint a bigger part of Pomorie guests with the nature’s cleaning crew so that each person can realise how crucial for the people’s health they are and for the balance in nature.

Expect our free public lectures next month, too, during the annual Pomorie Lake brigade.

Natura 2000
Natura 2000 is the largest coordinated network for nature conservation. More than 30% of the territory of Bulgaria falls within the scope of the network - 120 areas for the protection of wild birds and 234 areas for the protection of natural habitats.
