Press-conference in Varna attracted wide media attention

On the 2 February Green Balkans NGO in partnership with Black Sea Basin Directorate-Varna have held a press-conference for presenting the results of the project BLACK SEA WATCH "Black Sea Marine Research with Public participation". Main goal of the project is to rais public awareness on the Black Sea biodiversity and to promote the development of "citizen science" - data collection and regular monitoring of different flora and fauna species by amateurs. Selected date was not random since 2 February is World Wetlands Day and this year's theme was "Wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction".

The event has attracted wide media interest and coverage that were informed about data collected so far for the Black Sea biodiversity. Tanya Milkova of Black Sea Basin Directorate-Varna has presented the logo developed within MARLEN project for identifying the marine environment staudies and what is the common with BLACK SEA WATCH. The participants learned about experience of partner from Turkey and "The Adventures of Meriyem and Fanny the Dolphin" - the latest children book issued within BLACK SEA WATCH project.
