Common terns nest at new platforms and islets at Pomorie LakeOMORIE LAKE

Since beginning of June Common terns (Sterna hirundo) have occupied and started breeding at platform in the southwestern part of the lagoon. We were happy to count more than 80 pairs at one platform and two of the islets! Thus the efforts of Green Balkans NGO volunteers that have participated in the conservation holidays at Pomorie Lake during past two years have proven very successful and supported nesting of water birds at the site!

We would like to express our gratefulness to all participants in the Green Balkans long-term program for conservation of Pomorie Lake. Without your support it would not have been possible to save the water birds that have chosen Pomorie Lake as their home!
