Main tasks were maintenance of the created habitats for nesting of rare bird species – islets and platforms. Vegetation was removed from part of the large islet in the centre of the lagoon to assure mixed breeding habitat for different bird species – waders, terns, ducks. The activities are in compliance with the commitments to Ministry of Environment and Water for maintenance of the the created bird islet. Biodiversity expert from the environmental authority (RIOEW – Burgas) has executed control during the activities and plant samples were collected for execution of botanical expertise. Additionally, activities for maintenance of wooden platforms were held including creation of new platform.
During the weekend, the volunteers have made cleaning and maintenance of the building and green areas of Pomorie Lake visitor centre.
